Charles Wells to launch new beers through Wandering Brewer Project

Charles Wells is about to take brewing to the next level by launching brand new beers, before they even have a new brewery. The Wandering Brewer Project will see the Bedford based brewer and pub company collaborate with a collection of Britain’s best breweries to make some brand-new beers, the first of which will be launched at the 40th CAMRA Bedford Beer Festival on 4th October 2017.

The Wandering Brewer Project will see 22 beers being created over the next two years, with licensees and beer drinkers being asked for feedback on each brew. The most popular beers will then help influence the first beers brewed at the new Charles Wells brewery, due to open in 2019.

Head Brewer at Charles Wells, Ian Jones, is heading up the project and says he’s been working on some very exciting ideas: “As a brewer, The Wandering Brewer Project is a dream come true for me, I get to collaborate with some of the country’s most respected brewers and create some exciting beers. We’re looking at brewing many different styles over the next two years, some will be traditional, some will be a little left of mainstream, but all will be created with the passion and creativity that makes Britain’s brewers admired the world over.

“The first beers have been created in collaboration with XT Brewing Co. over in Buckinghamshire and will be launched at the 40th CAMRA Bedford Beer Festival on 4th October 2017. There will be two styles for the launch and I’m really happy with how they’ve turned out. Come along and try them for yourself!”

From then on, a new Wandering Brewer project beer will be available in Charles Wells pubs each month, with details on how to provide feedback on each of the beers direct to Ian and his team at Charles Wells.
