Festive gingerbread beer launches new tasting room

A Northumberland farmhouse brewery, launched in the former milking parlour of a dairy farm, now offers a tasting room and licensed bar.

Rigg & Furrow Brewery, based at Acklington Park Farm near Morpeth, opened its new bar with a special, festive  gingerbread beer for Christmas.

Over 100 people turned up in the former dairy “tasting room” launch and a jolly time was had by all.

And with the opening of these beautifully refurbished, old farmyard buildings, and a new license to sell beer on and off the premises here, you can look forward to many more similar events over the coming months!

So far in 2017, Rigg & Furrow, run by the Howie family, have supplied their distinctive beer to over 100 bars, venues and hotels from Scotland to Yorkshire –  including well known Northumberland and Tyneside venues: The Office in Morpeth (CAMRA North East pub of the year); The Free Trade Inn; Town Wall; and Bridge Tavern.  Bespoke, branded labels on bottles of beer to mark special occasions or weddings have proven particularly popular.

Theo Howie said: “Today’s been a great occasion and an opportunity to say a big thank you to everyone who’s supported us this year and a big “Cheers!” from the Howie family for our next year of brewery business!”
